Paris the capital of France, is one of the most popular tourist destinations and there are so many reasons why. Paris is easily accessible with one of the busiest airports in the world – Charles de Gaulle. By using the Metro, you can get to any destination quick and easy. It’s a great destination any time of year. With so much to do, Paris is a must see.
If you are an art lover, why not take a trip to one of the many museums? Paris is home to one of the most famous and most visited museums in the world – Museé de Louvre, home to the famous painting – the Mona Lisa. Museé d’Orsay is another great museum to visit.
A view like no other – to see the best views of Paris, the famous Eiffel tower is the place to be. Standing 324 meters tall, it is definitely going to have one of the best views of Paris. There are three levels, level 1 & 2 containing restaurants and shops whilst level 3 is where you will find the observation deck. The Eiffel tower is particularly beautiful at night, and twinkles on the hour every hour. It is a must see day and night.
Treat yourself to a Parisian picnic, grab a baguette and visit the many parks. Jardin Du Luxembourg is definitely the most popular to visit, it is a beautiful sight, perfect for everyone and it’s a great spot for people watching. Another spot for the perfect picnic is Champ De Mars, located at the bottom of the Eiffel tower and is known as one of the most romantic spots.
If you are a shopaholic, you must visit Galeries Lafayette – the biggest department store chain in Europe, a beautifully designed store that hosts all of the top designers. The Champs-Elysees, the most famous street in Paris for shopping. It’s home to many great designers and is the perfect place to go shopping or just to walk along and do some window shopping. At the end of the Champs Elysees you will find the Arc de Triomphe, another must see which has an amazing view of Paris once you reach the top. From the Arc de Triomphe you can see the Eiffel tower and all that surrounds it, a completely different view than what you would see from the Eiffel Tower observation deck.
The Moulin Rouge known for its famous Cabaret show, is great to see if you would like to do something other than site see. Take a trip to the Palais Garnier and see an opera, the worlds most famous opera house. Another way to see some of the famous Parisian landmarks is to take the River Seine cruise, during the day you can take the afternoon cruise or wait until the dinner cruise at night, where you can see all the landmarks light up and glisten.
Visit Montmartre where artists go to paint, and see the winding cobblestones streets, quaint cafes and great views. You will find the Sacre-Coeur, one of the most beautiful Basilicas, which is perched on top of a hill in Montmartre, with stunning views of Paris, this is a great place to watch the sunset.
The Notre-Dame, Palace Versailles and Pont Neuf are other must sees. Here are some other locations where you can view the Eiffel Tower – Trocadero square, Rue de L’Universite and Pont de Bir-Hakeim.
Visit one of the many must see cafes, try some of the typical French food or visit the Champagne Region. There are endless things to do and see in Paris.
