Croatia – Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar

Croatia is a great place to go to for a city break or a summer holiday. There are many towns to see and things to do. Whether it is a beach holiday or a cultural trip you will be sure to find something for everyone.

Dubrovnik – Medieval town – UNESCO world heritage site. Wandering the town and great walking trips.

Walk the city walls – take around 2-3 hours, amazing views – see the orange rooftops and another highlight – Minceta Tower. Pile Gate – Wooden Bridge which is built in 13th Century.

Stradun – 300m in length limestone paved promenade – have a morning coffee and people watch. Main thoroughfare filled with small shops and open air cafes

Dubrovnik Cathedral – also known as Assumption Cathedral – Baroque style made by Andrea Buffalini in Rome.

Cable cars – sunset watching or nighttime. Best views of Dubrovnik birds eye view – Mount srd 412 m high. Built in 1969 operates until midnight at peak season.

Lovrijenac Fort – Ancient fortress 40m above the sea. Amazing views and where game of thrones filmed set.

Game of thrones – many sets here that were filmed. Many tours to go on.

Lokrum island – One of most popular excursions – only short ferry ride from Dubrovnik. You can visit and sit on the beach or wander the many gardens. Lots of peacocks and large rabbits roam.

Take a trip to Montenegro – takes around 2 hours.

Split

Diocietians Palace – Built in 305 AD for Roman Emperor Diocietian. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Climb the bell tower of St Domnius Cathedral – 59m high with 200 stairs. Located within Diocietians Palace. It is the oldest catholic cathedral in the world. Completed in the 7th Century AD. Climb the bell tower for 360 views of Split – the best views.

Old town – Peoples sqaure – heart of the old town. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Old town clock is a beautiful view.

Rive Promenade – Riva is the harbor of split. Filled with palm trees and colorful buildings. A stroll along is ideal.

Trogir – Visit Trogir – a small city taking 1-2 hours to tour around. only a 35 minute drive or a 1 hour ferry ride.

Blue Cave – the iconic blue cave on Bisevo island. Amazing blue cave with a blue glow and crystal clear water.

Marjan hill – great for hiking, filled with pine trees and beautiful view.

Krka waterfalls – Waterfalls of Krka national park. Takes around an hour from Split. Hike and admire the wonderful waterfalls.

Whitewater rafting on Cetina River – If you are looking for adventure and adrenaline this is the thing for you. Raft along one of the longest river in Dalmatia.

Blue Lagoon – most famous blue lagoon is on the island Drvenik Veli. Has magical clear waters and are great for swimming in. You can rent a boat to get there.

Plitvice lakes – Country’s most beautiful natural attractions. Another UNESCO world heritage sites located in central Croatia near Bosnia and Herzegovina border. One of Croatia’s largest parks. With turquoise lakes and waterfalls. Takes 2.5 hours from Split
