The Istrian Riviera, Croatia…

With 200 miles of jagged coastline, the Istrian Riviera is the largest Adriatic peninsula with a beautiful climate.  Often compared to Italy & France, the area has a long history of tourism and providing excellent standards of accommodation.  Walled medieval towns perch on hilltops and beside harbours, loaded with ancient churches and bell towers. The bustling seaside resorts of Rovinj, Opatlija, Porec, Pula and Rabac provide a hive of activity for every type of holiday maker. All are located between 10 and 80 mins from Pula Airport.

National parks run parallel to the country’s coast, putting walking, biking and rafting at visitor’s fingertips.  Island hoping to Cres and Krk is very popular.

While visiting this stunning part of Croatia do make sure to take part in the great value full-day excursions to the romantic city of Venice for a chance to enjoy its magnificent sights and take a gondola along the canals.

The busiest resorts for Nightlife, are Porec and Rovinj, Porec is also known for its range of shops, boutiques and jewellers.

For our gourmand travellers, Istria has attained a reputation as a foodie paradise.  As it’s a seaside location, the cuisine revolves around seafood.  However, inland specialities such as cured ham, truffles and smoked meats are also a regular feature on menus.
